On 27th of September, Nihon M&A Center (Thailand) – Mr. Shinya Kumata (Director) and Mr. Thanat Thongpanee (M&A Consultant) was invited to be the guest speaker in the lecture for the Master of Science Program in Finance (International Program) at Thammasat University, for the course ‘Equity Analysis’. Speaking on the topic of our expertise “The Thai Market from the Perspective of Japanese Investors and Their Expectations When Investing in a Company”, our team had the opportunity to provide students with valuable insights into investment opportunities with Japanese business.
Shinya introduces the students with the introduction into the world of Nihon M&A Center, offering them a glimpse into the role of our company as the facilitators of M&A across borders. He also offered observations on Japanese economic overview and outbound investment, highlighting the long-standing presence of Japanese business in Thailand which create the foundation of deep-rooted supply chains, trusted partnerships, and resilience amid changing economic conditions. Diving deeper into context of Japan-Thailand investment, he discussed Japanese Investors Characteristics, key motivations behind investments, and challenges in M&A transactions in Thailand. Additionally, he explained the approach of doing valuation in real-life M&A transactions, as well as growth strategies for SMEs – which will undoubtedly be useful for the student enrolled in this class.
During the session, Thanat also shared his case studies of successful M&A transactions, highlighting the approaches that we used to achieve and close these transactions. Through these real-world examples, students can gain a clearer understanding of how cross-border investments are executed and what it takes to navigate complex business environments.
As the regional market becomes more and more connected to each other, having the insights of the foreign investors will be crucial especially for country with long-established business partnership like Japan. We hope the information we deliver would inspire the students and would benefit their future professional career to some extent. We look forward for more academic collaboration in the near future.
